29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation: (a) Production - The employer did not ensure that the Press Rite punch press, serial #1SE6455, was guarded to protect machine operators from hazards created by the point of operation. On or about August 29, 2020, an employee suffered an occupational injury while operating unguarded punch press serial #1SW6455. The employee sustained an amputation to the left ring finger when the press was activated while the employees hand was in the point of operation.
