29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall protection system: (a)Puetz Design + Build Inc. at 2310 Patron Parkway, Pierre, SD 57501: On or about and at times prior to September 11, 2020, the exposing employer did not ensure employees were protected from falls. Three employees were installing sheathing material on a roof while standing on truss chord bracing without the use of a fall protection system. This condition exposed employees to fall hazards to the interior of the building between 10 feet 5 inches and 12 feet 4 inches to the concrete below. Puetz Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1143275, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 16, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 1515 15th Street, Watertown, SD 57201. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (wee enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
