29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11):Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Jobsite located at 211 South Union Street, Kennett Square, PA.: The employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falls. Employees were engaged in roofing activities while working on a residential roof approximately 15 feet above the ground level. Employees were working on an approximately 10:12 steep pitched roof on a residential building. The employees did not utilize any form of fall protection; thus exposing employees to fall hazards. Condition was observed on or about 24 SEP 2020.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) Jobsite located at 211 South Union Street, Kennett Square, PA.: The employer did not provide training to employees engaged in roofing activities. Employees were removing old shingles and replacing with new shingles, and working approximately 15 feet above the ground level. Employees were not trained on how to recognize, evaluate, and mitigate hazards associated with working on a roof. Condition was observed on or about 25 AUG 2020.
