29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face. a) Lower Mississippi River around Mile Marker 726 - On the Shop Barge: On or about October 6, 2020, workers were wearing 3M 6900 Full Facepeice Reusable Air Purifying Respirator with facial hair to enter the barges tanks that contained chemicals such as but not limited to gas, ethanol, diesel, and benzene to clean them exposing the workers to respiratory hazards.
