29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. On or about October 7, 2020, employees conducting roofing installation operations on the upper level of a single family residential property were exposed to struck-by hazards when the employer failed to ensure hard hats were utilized. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. On or about October 7, 2020, employees were exposed to eye hazards while operating nail fasteners on the roof of a single family residential property when the employer failed to ensure that eye protection was utilized. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about October 7, 2020, employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 10' & 20.3' when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized. The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1258223, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 4, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 1532 Ashford Ct., Wheaton, Illinois 60189 . Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
