29 CFR 1910.213(j)(3): Hand-fed jointer(s) with horizontal cutting head(s) did not have automatic guard(s) which automatically adjusted to cover the unused portion of the head and/or remained in contact with the material at all times: a) Facility floor - On or about October 16, 2020, the guard used to cover the horizontal cutting head on the Jointer was not maintained and therefore did not automatically adjust when wood was being processed. This condition exposes employees to injury from contact with the exposed revolving knives. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photograph or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
