29 CFR  1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed part(s) of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform were not protected by stationary casing(s) enclosing shafting completely or by trough(s) enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting.  a) Worksite, machine shop:  On or about August 17, 2020, an employee was exposed to caught in hazards  while operating a PEXTO 16 Gauge Shear (S/N U1120B) machine that did not have a guard for a rotating shaft under the machine.   Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
