29 CFR 1910.178(q)(6): Powered industrial trucks were altered so that the relative positions of the various parts were different from what they were when originally received from the manufacturer, by the addition of extra parts not provided by the manufacturer, or by the elimination of any parts without the manufacturer's approval: (a) Throughout the facility; The mast on a Datsun brand forklift was altered by drilling a hole through it and adding/inserting a pin through the mast without approval from the forklift manufacturer. (b) Throughout the facility; The ignition system on a Datsun brand forklift was altered by changing it to a toggle and push button system without approval from the forklift manufacturer.
