29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Chip Grinding Area: On or about November 16, 2020, a Clausing Lathe was missing a guard over the chuck area, exposing employees to the rotating portion of the chuck which could result in injury. b) Chip Grinding Area: On or about November 16, 2020, a Jet horizontal band saw was missing guarding on the unused portion of the blade, exposing employees to amputation hazards. c) Shop Floor Area: On or about November 16, 2020, a Clausing Lathe was missing a guard over the chuck area, exposing employees to the rotating portion of the chuck which could result in injury. d) New Britain Addition Area: On or about November 16, 2020, an Okuma CNC Turning Center # 405 was missing interlocks, exposing employees to rotating parts and ingoing nip points. e) New Britain Addition Area: On or about November 16, 2020, an Okuma CNC Lathe # 403 was missing interlocks, exposing employees to rotating parts and ingoing nip points. f) New Britain Addition Area: On or about November 16, 2020, a HAAS Milling Machine # 304 was missing interlocks, exposing employees to rotating parts and ingoing nip points.
