29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe condition(s) and the regulation(s) applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazard(s) or other exposure to illness or injury: a) 3403 Cade Ct: On or about November 30, 2020, Richmond American Homes of Colorado, as controlling employer, exposed four Dan's Concrete employees to crushing hazards in that the employer did not ensure employees were instructed in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions while working were moving the temporary structure and supports of patio covers while performing concrete pouring activities. The temporary support structures had been in place for a period of time prior to their movement. Injuries associated with being struck by a falling patio cover is, but not limited to, broken bones, contusions, ligament, muscle damage, and even death. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
