29 CFR  1926.651(h)(2):Where water was controlled or prevented from accumulating by use of water removal equipment, the water removal equipment and operations were not monitored by a competent person to ensure proper operation:  A) 16 Hawthorne Rd Kendall Park, NJ 08824  The employer did not ensure a "competent person"  monitored the water removal equipment to ensure proper operation. The monitoring of the water removal system (Pump) was not done by a competent person since there was no competent person onsite.  Hazard noted on or about 12/08/2020

29 CFR  1926.651(k)(1):Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could result in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions.  An inspection was not conducted by the competent person prior to the start of work and as needed throughout the shift.  A) 16 Hawthorne Rd Kendall Park, NJ 08824  The employer did not ensure a "competent person" inspected trenches and excavations prior to the start of work and as needed throughout the shift.  Employees were working  in an excavation at a depth of approximately 11ft deep.  Employees did not have the protection of sloping, benching and/or other engineering controls such as an appropriate trench box throughout the excavation.  Inspections were not completed for the potential cave-in hazards on the site.   Hazard noted on or about 12/08/2020
