Employees are permitted to operate an unguarded horizontal metal band saw.  Maintenance personnel used a Wellsaw horizontal metal band saw for cutting metal pieces.  The saw did not have guards on the unused runs of the rotating edges of the blade on both ends exposing employees to amputation hazards.
