29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): On or about December 11, 2020, and times prior to, employees were exposed to amputation hazard when cutting various types of meats and bones on a powered band saw (Biro brand,model number 3334-serial number 52010) located in the processing room.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii):Special handtools for placing and removing material were not used as permitted for easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools should not be used in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided. On or about December 11, 2020 and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure employees were protected against amputation hazards due to not utilizing a special hand tool that would keep employee's hands further from the danger zone.
