29 CFR 1910.134(h)(2)(i): All respirators shall be stored to protect them from damage, contamination, dust, sunlight, extreme temperatures, excessive moisture, and damaging chemicals, and they shall be packed or stored to prevent deformation of the facepiece and exhalation valve: At a facility located at 2049 Creamery Road, De Pere, WI 54115 - Building 3; positive pressure supplied air abrasive blast helmet respirators were not stored to protect them from contamination and dust. The blast helmets were stored on a shelf-top in the Building 3 office where fugitive dust from the abrasive blast process accumulated on horizontal surfaces.

General-duty citation text
29 CFR 1910.1053(j)(1): The employer shall include respirable crystalline silica in the program established to comply with the hazard communication standard (HCS) (29 CFR 1910.1200). The employer shall ensure that each employee has access to labels on containers of crystalline silica and safety data sheets, and is trained in accordance with the provisions of HCS and paragraph (j)(3) of this section. The employer shall ensure that at least the following hazards are addressed: Cancer, lung effects, immune system effects, and kidney effects. At a facility located at 2049 Creamery Road, De Pere, WI 54115 - Building 3; the employer did not include respirable crystalline silica in their hazard communication program. Abrasive Blast employees working with the abrasive media Garnet, which contained crystalline silica, did not receive hazard communication training to address hazards such as cancer, lung effects, immune system effects and kidney effects.
