OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to assaults by patients. Employees including, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Mental Health technicians at Cypress Creek Hospital in Houston, TX, have suffered serious workplace violence related injuries such as fractures, lacerations, contusions, strains to body parts including the head, eyes, face, hands, and legs from hits, kicks and punches while performing their job duties and routine interaction with patients.
