29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. On or about January 7, 2021, during the installation of roofing material at the job site located at 28 S. 3RD ST, Rittman, Ohio 44270; the employer did not ensure employees working on the roof of single family home were protected from possible danger of eye injury from impact, or from flying objects from the employees installing roofing material. The SCHERER QUALITY CONSTRUCTION LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.102(a)(1) Eye and Face Protection), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1447116, citation number 01, item number 01 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/22/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 1551 Treetop TR, Akron, Ohio 44313.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about January 7, 2021, during the installation of roofing material at a job site located at 28 S. 3RD ST, Rittman, Ohio 44270; the employer did not ensure employees working on a roof of a single family home were protected from a fall of approximately 18.6 feet by utilizing a fall protection system. The SCHERER QUALITY CONSTRUCTION LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.501(b)(13) Duty to have fall protection), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1447116, citation number 01, item number 02 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/22/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 1551 Treetop TR, Akron, Ohio 44313.
