29 CFR 1910.178(a)(4):Modifications and additions which affect capacity and safe operation shall not be performed by the customer or user without manufacturers prior written approval. Capacity, operation, and maintenance instruction plates, tags, or decals shall be changed accordingly. On or about July 17, 2020, modifications, such as, but not limited to, interlocks being bypassed, which altered the safe operation of several powered industrial trucks were made without written approval from the manufacturer. Employees were exposed to stuck-by and caught-in hazards.
