Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.  On or about January 13, 2021, employees conducting roofing installation operations on the upper level of a residential single-family property were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 11.5 feet when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized.   No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
