1910.217(c)(3)(iii)(f) Guards shall be used to protect all areas of entry to the point of operation not protected by the presence sensing device. 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii):Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): Instance A: On or about January 6, 2021, a Beckwood Hydraulic Press was not guarded to prevent employees from standing beyond a safety mat and being able to reach into the point of operation. Instance B: On and before January 6, 2021, a Beckwood Hydraulic Press was not guarded due to a NSD (New Safety Device Brand) Safety Mat, Model Model NSD-TR-01 was not dependable in that it did not always control/prevent the machine cycles.
