29 CFR  1910.178(g)(9): Care was not taken to assure that vent caps were functioning. The battery (or compartment) cover(s) was not open to dissipate heat:  (a) Battery Room at 24 Corliss Street in Providence:  On or about January 10, 2021, the employer did not ensure that vent caps were functioning properly and thereby exposed employees to battery acid (sulfuric acid) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and/or hydrogen (H) gasses while working on a battery with a defective ventilation cap.
