29 CFR 1926.850(a): An engineering survey was not performed by a competent person to determine the conditions of the framing floors and walls and the possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations: a) Area 1C, First Floor West Chase - Employees were exposed to a potential unplanned collapse when cutting and manually pushing over concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls that were in poor condition, and an engineering survey to address this hazard had not been conducted on or about 01/13/2021. No abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
