29 CFR 1926.251(a)(1): Rigging equipment for material handling shall be inspected prior to use on each shift and as necessary during its use to ensure that it is safe. Defective rigging equipment shall be removed from service. (a) On or about Thursday, January 21, 2021 at LaGuardia Airport - Delta Terminal D - Second floor curbside, southside building. Employees preforming hoisting operations on structural steel members that involve chain fall equipment did not ensure the rigging equipment on the cantilever beam was inspected for defects prior to use. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
