29 CFR OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards:  a. At the facility, 1024 Caldwell Hill Rd, Lisle, NY - Freestanding horizontal bunk storage: Employees walk on the top of the horizontal bunk storage which is approximately twenty- five feet from the ground to place and remove tarps and tires. The employees work within six feet of the unprotected edge of the working face. The violation occurred on or about 02/17/2021.  Among other feasible and acceptable means of abatement include:  a. Utilize personal fall arrest/restraint systems which would comply with ANSI/ASSE A1264.1-2017, Safety Requirements for Workplace Walking/Working Surfaces and Their Access; Section 5.  b. Utilize poles to push/pull tires and remove tarps without being next to the working face, in conjunction with a Comprehensive Fall Protection Program (ANSI/ASSE Z359.2 Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program).   Abatement certification is required for this item.
