29 CFR 1910.157(c)(4):The employer shall assure that portable fire extinguishers are maintained in a fully charged and operable condition and kept in their designated places at all times except during use: a) On or about February 2, 2021 an Amerex ABC fire extinguisher mounted on a column in the southeast corner of the terminal was not maintained in a fully charged condition. The indicator gauge read "recharge". b) On or about February 2, 2021 an Amerex ABC fire extinguisher mounted on a column between doors 43 and 44 was not maintained in a fully charged condition. The indicator gauge read "recharge". R & L Carriers Shared Services, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.157(c)(4), which was contained in OSHA Inspection 1410362, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on January 22, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 30 Industrial Drive, Canton, MA 02021.

29 CFR 1910.157(e)(5): The employer shall assure that alternate equivalent protection is provided when portable fire extinguishers are removed from service for maintenance and recharging. On or about February 2, 2021 alternate equivalent protection was not provided when a fire extinguisher, mounted between doors 39 and 40 in the terminal, was taken out of service and/or removed from its mounting bracket.
