29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  Elkhart Plastics, LLC at 8257 Blakeland Dr. Littleton, CO 80125: On or before 2/9/21, the employer did not protect employees from injury in that the rotomolding machines were not equipped with guards or presence sensing devices in order to eliminate exposure to the rotating parts of the rotomolders. The area where the molds rotate as well as the areas where the arm swings were not guarded. This condition exposed employees to struck-by and amputation hazards. 29 CFR  1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:  Elkhart Plastics, LLC at 8257 Blakeland Dr. Littleton, CO 80125: On or before 2/9/21, the employer did not protect employees from injury in that power strips were daisy chained with multiple plug extension cords in foam rooms #2 and #4. This condition exposed employees to electric shock and fire hazards.    Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
