29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a- 610 East 14th Street, Ocean City NJ: Workers were exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 18 feet to the ground surface below, when working at and near the unprotected edges of a pier without the use of fall protection. Condition observed on or about 02/08/21. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1910.180(d)(4): Complete inspection(s) of crane(s) were not performed at intervals as generally defined in 1910.180(d)(ii) with a determination made as to whether deficiencies constituted a safety hazard: a- 610 East 14th Street, Ocean City NJ: On or about 02/08/21, and times prior thereto, the employer failed to conduct complete crane inspections exposing employees to struck by hazards. IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19(d), ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION (using the CERTIFICATE OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET) AND IN ADDITION DOCUMENTATION DEMONSTRATING THAT ABATEMENT IS COMPLETE MUST BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR CERTIFICATION. THIS DOCUMENTATION MAY INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, EVIDENCE OF PURCHASE OR REPAIR OF EQUIPMENT, PHOTOGRAPHIC OR VIDEO EVIDENCE OF ABATEMENT OR OTHER WRITTEN RECORDS.
