The employer used temporary power strips and extension cords to power portable space heaters and other appliances. This condition exposed employees to fire and electrical hazards.

The employer used temporary power taps/power strips and extension cords in the pricing area of the facility to provide electrical power to portable space heaters and other appliances. This condition exposed employees to shock and electrical hazards.

29 CFR 1910.242(b):Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: a) Goodwill of Colorado, dba Discover Goodwill of Southern & Western Colorado at 630 24 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81505: On or before February 22, 2021, the employer did not protect employees from injury in that compressed air nozzles used for cleaning off merchandise in the pricing area was not reduced to less than 30 psi. The compressed air line was pressurized at 140 p.s.i. This condition exposed employees using the compressed air to a hazard of embolism in the blood stream and struck-by hazards. Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.242(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1371387, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 20, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 16218 Jackson Creek Pkwy, Monument, CO 80132.
