29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3):Sprockets and chains. All sprocket wheels and chains shall be enclosed unless they are more than seven (7) feet above the floor or platform. Where the drive extends over other machine or working areas, protection against falling shall be provided. This subparagraph does not apply to manually operated sprockets. a) Titanium Metals Corporation located at 100 Titanium Way, Toronto, Ohio 43964: On and/or preceding February 22, 2021, the employer did not ensure sprockets and chains were fully enclosed. The guard on the exit side of the furnace had been removed, exposing employees to a caught-in hazard from the exposed chain and sprocket of the roller system.
