29 CFR  1910.134(c)(1):  In any workplace where respirators are necessary to protect the health of the employee or whenever respirators are required by the employer, the employer shall establish and implement a written respiratory protection program with worksite-specific procedures. The program shall be updated as necessary to reflect those changes in workplace conditions that affect respirator use. The employer shall include in the program the following provisions of this section, as applicable:  Building C, Bonding and Hairlining Area:  On or about February 25, 2021, employees were exposed to respiratory stressors associated with being required to wear 3M half-face tight-fitting respirators.  Employees were required to wear respirators while bonding and sanding stainless-steel doors, using Diabond DE948FR Resin and Hardener and a sanding machine.   Employees are exposed to chemicals such as but not limited to hexavalent chromium.  The employer did not develop and implement a written respiratory protection program that included medical evaluations, annual fit-testing, and training requirements prior to respirator use onsite.   Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
