29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: Worksite located at 8101 NW Barrybrooke Drive, Building #4, Kansas City, Missouri- On or about February 15, 2021 an employee fell to the ground level from an unprotected edge at the top of the 2nd level landing. The employee sustained multiple injuries as a result from the fall.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii):Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with a stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge: Worksite located at 8101 NW Barrybrooke Drive, Building #4, Kansas City, Missouri- On or about February 15, 2021, an employee carrying a box while going up a flight of stairs fell when he was walking on the 2nd story landing area. The employee were not protected from falling by the use of standard handrails and stairrails used to prevent falls.The employer had removed the guardrails, thus exposing their employees, as well as other employers working in the building to the fall hazards once they left the area.
