29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1):Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that the employer did not ensure the safety of the equipment pursuant to the considerations in sections (i) through (viii) of 29 CR 1910.303(b)(1): (a) On or about February 25, 2021, the employer exposed employees to electrical hazards, in that, cords used to connect the wires for the hydraulic power units were spliced and not properly safeguarded: (1) Inside the dismantling shop, west side bay, the vehicle hydraulic lift TP11KC-DX (Serial Number GL.JUN.20.0001) had unraveling electrical tape over the spliced wires. (2) Inside the dismantling shop, east side bay, the vehicle hydraulic lift TP11KC-DX (Serial Number GL.JUN.20.0002) had unraveling electrical tape over the spliced wires. (3) At the dismantling open shed, the vehicle hydraulic lift TP9KACX (Serial Number TT.AUG.20.0844) had electrical tape that did not protect the spliced connection from outdoor environmental exposure.
