29 CFR 1910.36(d)(2): Exit route doors were operated by a device or alarm that could restrict emergency use of the exit route if the device or alarm fails. On or about March 18, 2021, at the USPS Cupey Post Office; the emergency exit next to the PO Boxes area were locked by magnetic bars which prevent a rapid unlocking of the exit door in case of an emergency. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): A portable fire extinguisher was blocked and not available for immediate use by employees. On or about March 18, 2021, at the USPS Cupey Post Office; the only fire extinguisher available at the rear of the facility was blocked by mail carts and equipment impeding the access to it in case of an emergency. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
