Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about February 23, 2021, employees were observed roofing on a single family home at a job site located at 17609 Mapleboro Ave, Maple Heights, OH 44137. The employer did not ensure exposed employees were protected from, falls by utilizing a PFAS or protected by any other form of fall protection system at an approximate fall height of 10 ft.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4):Ladders shall be used only for the purpose for which they were designed. On or about February 23, 2021, an employee was observed roofing on a single family home at a job site located at 17609 Mapleboro Ave, Maple Heights, OH 44137 at an approximate fall height of 10 ft. The employer did not ensure that employee utilized ladders as they were designed for use. An employee was observed utilizing a collapsed stepladder to gain additional height to an elevated working surface.
