29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1):Employees did not use eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents:  At 16100 163rd Place, in Olathe, Kansas,  were not required to use eye protection when using the nail gun. Employer stated that eye protection was provided to their employees, but employer did not enforce the wearing of appropriate PPE when using the nail gun. Employees were exposed to serious injury or loss of an eye while using the nail gun without wearing safety glasses.

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1):Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  At 16100 163rd Place, in Olathe, Kansas,  were not trained to on the hazards associated with unprotected edges or sides during residential framework. Employer did not provide training to educate their employees on the hazards related to objects falling from heights of 6 feet or greater and wearing appropriate PPE when conducting framework. Falling objects can severely injure or result in death of employees. Employees falling from the height of 6 feet or greater can also result in serious injury or death.

Employer did not provide training to educate their employees on the hazards related to objects falling from heights of 6 feet or greater and wearing appropriate PPE when conducting framework. The employer stated that he did not train his employees and did not have a written safety plan. The lack of training and education to the employees can lead to serious injury or death from exposure to numerous hazards.
