29 CFR  1910.303(b)(2):Installation and use. Listed or labeled equipment shall be installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling.  (a)	Janitorial Office, Building 502;  An Oster microwave was plugged into a surge protector power strip (relocatable power tap).   The UL listing states that relocatable power taps are designed for low amperage computer and audiovisual types of equipment, and not appliances.  This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards.  The Navy Exchange was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1501256, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 15, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at Everett, WA.

29 CFR  1910.37(a)(3):Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Stairs or a ramp must be provided where the exit route is not substantially level.  (a)	NEX Home Store Warehouse;  Brooms, shovels, and rakes were stored adjacent to the exit discharge door that was located near the Warehouse employee computer workstations.  This exposes employees to possible struck by hazards and delayed egress hazards if the brooms, shovels and rakes fall down across the exit access.

29 CFR  1910.157(e)(2):Portable extinguishers or hose used in lieu thereof under paragraph (d)(3) of this section shall be visually inspected monthly.  a)	 Janitorial Office, Building 502;  The Badger fire extinguisher located near the door was not visually inspected monthly.  This exposes employees to possible smoke inhalation hazards if they try to extinguish a small fire and the fire extinguisher is inoperable.

29 CFR  1910.157(e)(3):The employer shall assure that portable fire extinguishers are subjected to an annual maintenance check. Stored pressure extinguishers do not require an internal examination. The employer shall record the annual maintenance date and retain this record for one year after the last entry or the life of the shell, whichever is less. The record shall be available to the Assistant Secretary upon request.  a)	Janitorial Office, Building 502;  The Badger fire extinguisher located near the door was not subjected to an annual maintenance check.  This exposes employees to possible smoke inhalation hazards if they try to extinguish a small fire and the fire extinguisher is inoperable.

When normally enclosed live parts are exposed for inspection or servicing, the working space, if in a passageway or general open space, shall be suitably guarded.  a)	 NEX Home Store Warehouse;  Wooden wheeled carts were stored underneath Breaker Panel C.  This exposes employees to possible tripping and/or struck by hazards.
