29 CFR  1910.213(h)(1): Radial saw(s) did not have an upper hood constructed in such a manner and of material that would have protected the operator from flying splinters, broken saw teeth, etc. and that deflected sawdust away from the operator:  (a) Rocky Mountain Cabinet and Countertops, Inc. at 500 W 7th St. Salida, CO 81201: On or before 4/20/21 the employer did not ensure that the Omga radial saw [model RM700, year 1994] in the cabinet box fabrication area was equipped with a front guard to protect against amputation and laceration hazards as well as flying chips and broken saw teeth. These conditions exposed employees to flying debris and amputation hazards.  (b) Rocky Mountain Cabinet and Countertops, Inc. at 500 W 7th St. Salida, CO 81201: On or before 4/20/21 the employer did not ensure that the Omga radial saw [model RM700, serial 01304513] was equipped with a front guard to protect against amputation and laceration hazards as well as flying chips and broken saw teeth. These conditions exposed employees to flying debris and amputation hazards.   Abatement Note: Abatement certification is not required for this item.

Informal training was given to employees however not in conjunction with a written hazard communication program. 29 CFR  1910.303(g)(1)(ii): The required working space about electric equipment rated 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground, was used for storage:   (a) Rocky Mountain Cabinet and Countertops, Inc. at 500 W 7th St. Salida, CO 81201: On or before 4/20/21 the employer did not ensure that the panel in the CNC area was clear of stored items and debris. This condition exposed employees to electric shock and fire hazards.  (b) Rocky Mountain Cabinet and Countertops, Inc. at 500 W 7th St. Salida, CO 81201: On or before 4/20/21 the employer did not ensure that the main panel was kept clear of items stored within 30 inches. Motor oil was stored within 30 inches of the panel. This condition exposed employees to electric shock and fire hazards.  Abatement Note: Abatement certification is not required for this item.
