FRC MID-ATLANTIC, Hangar 200 Virginia Beach Virginia 23460, employee(s) were exposed to an unguarded and unprotected fall hazard greater than 8 feet high when assigned to work on the left hand side of an F/A 18 aircraft to complete an aircraft modification.  Employee was working on an eight (8) foot high elevated work-stand and fell through the 32.5 inch open gap between the work-stand guard rail and the aircraft.   Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
