1926.304(h)(1) Each circular crosscut table saw was not guarded by a hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw blade above the table and that portion of the saw above the material being cut:Note: See paragraph (i)(1) of this section for additional requirements for hand-fed crosscut table saws. On or about May 5, at the previously addressed job site, employees operated a Makita table saw to perform rip cuts on foam materials. The table saw did not have guards in place and was designed to accommodate such guards. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.300(b)(4)(iii):Special hand tools for placing and removing material shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. a) On or about May 5, 2021, at the previously addressed job site, employees were using a Makita table saw to perform rip cuts on foam material without using a push stick and doing so by hand. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
