Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a) Schwartz Quality Construction LLC., at a jobsite located at 5239 Columbus Road, Granville, Ohio 43023: On and/or preceding May 18, 2021, the employer failed to ensure employees were protected from falls while engaged in framing activities. Employees were framing the roof of a storage building. The employees were not protected from falls by any means, thereby exposed to fall hazards of up to 24 feet.

Employees were framing the roof of a storage building. The employees were not protected from falls by any means, thereby exposed to fall hazards of up to 24 feet.

29 CFR  1926.1051(a):A stairway or ladder shall be provided at all personnel points of access where there is a break in elevation of 19 inches (48 cm) or more, and no ramp, runway, sloped embankment, or personnel hoist is provided.  a) Schwartz Quality Construction LLC., at a jobsite located at 5239 Columbus Road, Granville, Ohio 43023: On and/or preceding May 18, 2021, the employer failed to ensure employees were provided with and used a ladder to access the roof while engaged in framing activities. Employees climbed the girts on the side of the building to access the roof, thereby exposed to fall hazards of up to 16 feet.
