29 CFR 1926.100(a):Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. On May 28, 2021, an employee was not wearing a protective helmet where there was a possible danger of head injury from falling objects. An employees was standing under a crane suspended HVAC unit that was being transported onto a commercial roof, exposing the employee to struck-by hazards from falling objects. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about May 28, 2021, employees were exposed to fall hazards approximately 27 feet high while engaged in HVAC installation on the roof of a commercial building. Fall protection was not being utilized while performing HVAC installation. No abatement certification or documentation required for this item. Assurance Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1284514, citation 1, item 1(a), and was affirmed as a final order on June 7, 2018, with respect to a worksite located at 1300 Remington Rd., Suite M, Schaumburg, IL.
