On or about May 26, 2021, at Stonecliff Estates at or near 5831 Enterprise Dr. - Lincoln, NE 68521 , employee(s) engaged in power washing concrete in an enclosed parking garage, were exposed to high carbon monoxide levels and required hospital treatment for carbon monoxide exposure and facial injuries. The air quality/respiratory hazards in the enclosed garage were not monitored to determine the presence of potentially dangerous levels.

29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of carbon monoxide listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 50 parts per million (ppm): The employer is failing to ensure that employee exposure to airborne concentrations of carbon monoxide does not exceed 50 ppm, as an 8 hour time-weighted average (TWA). On or about May 26, 2021, at Stonecliff Estates at or near 5831 Enterprise Dr. - Lincoln, NE 68521 , an employee engaged in power washing concrete was exposed to carbon monoxide at an 8 hour TWA of 106.4 ppm, approximately 2.13 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm. Exposure level was determined from employee carboxyhemoglobin levels for 160 minutes exposure time and zero exposure is assumed for the remained 320 minutes.
