Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. The employer is failing to protect employees from fall hazards while performing residential roofing activities. This was most recently observed at 1532 S. 106 Ave, Omaha NE 68124, on June 1st, 2021, where the employer has employees working directly adjacent to an unprotected edge of a walking-working surface.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): When portable ladders are used for access to an upper landing surface, the ladder side rails shall extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder is used to gain access. The employer is failing to protect employees from fall hazards while performing residential roofing activities. This was most recently observed at 1532 S. 106 Ave, Omaha NE 68124, on June 1st, 2021, where the employer has employees accessing a walking-working surface that is 11 feet 8 inches above the lower level, with a ladder that is positioned in such a way that the ladder's side rails do not extend 3 feet above the landing surface.
