29 CFR 1926.1413(a)(1):A competent person must begin a visual inspection prior to each shift the equipment is used, which must be completed before or during that shift. The inspection must consist of observation of wire ropes (running and standing) that are likely to be in use during the shift for apparent deficiencies, including those listed in paragraph (a)(2) of this section and as specified in paragraphs 1926.1413(a)(2)(i)-(a)(2)(iii) Location: 34 Eden Lane, Whippany, NJ 07981 a) Employees exposed to struck by hazards while conducting deep ground compaction utilizing an American SEI 7250 crane with a 10 ton weight attached to 180 foot cables with visible broken wires. Violation observed on or about 6/2/21.
