29 CFR  OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, who were permitted to use non-load rated makeshift sawhorses to support heavy metal products and components. The makeshift sawhorses were used weekly to support pumps, motors and other items that each weighed in excess of 400 pounds.  Heavy equipment was placed on these makeshift sawhorses while employees worked in the area, thereby, exposing employees to a crushing hazard.  (a) Production Work Area: On or about June 1, 2021, employees worked nearby and or used sawhorses that were without load rating, to support pumps, motors and steel components, which each weighed in excess of 400 pounds, exposing employees to crushing hazard.  Abatement Note:  Among other feasible means, the employer should obtain engineering load rating for the makeshift Sawhorses so as to safely support equipment and to eliminate  crushing hazard.
