Storage areas shall be kept free from accumulation of materials that constitute hazards from tripping, fire, explosion, or pest harborage.   a) At the facility, 55 West End Rd, Totowa, NJ -Back Storage Area: An aisle was blocked by excessive materials,  including, but not limited to intermediate bulk containers, 55 gallon drums and pallets of chemicals creating a fire, explosion, and pest harborage hazard, on or around May 20, 2021.    The Organics Corporation of America was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1910.176(c), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1368446, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on April 1, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 55 West End Rd, Totowa, NJ 07512 .

The employer did not provide the affected employees with effective information and training on the chemicals at the time of their initial assignment  and whenever a new chemical was introduced into the work area,  on or about May 20, 2021.  b) At the facility, 55 West End Rd, Totowa, NJ - (Packaging Area): Employees worked with hazardous chemicals including, but not limited to isopropanol 70%. The employer did not provide the affected employees with effective information and training on the chemicals at the time of their initial assignment  and whenever a new chemical was introduced into the work area,  on or about May 20, 2021.
