29 CFR  1926.760(a)(1):Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems.  a. Schnippel Construction, Inc. at the worksite located at 5410 Milan Rd. in Sandusky, OH:  On or about June 9, 2021, the employer did not ensure employees working on the structure's third level were protected from falls up to approximately 24 feet to the ground below.  Schnippel Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of an equivalent Occupational Safety and Health Standard 26 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1384872, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 2, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 7320 Tylers Place Blvd., West Chester, Ohio, 45069.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
