29 CFR 1926.502(b)(10) When guardrail systems are used at hoisting areas, a chain, gate or removable guardrail section shall be placed across the access opening between guardrail sections when hoisting operations are not taking place. (a) On or about June 9, 2021, employees conducting renovation work on a public school were not protected from falling to the lower level by the use of an approved fall protection system. This exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately nine (9) feet 11 inches.
