29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(iv): Employees shall always stand firmly on the floor of the basket, and shall not sit or climb on the edge of the basket or use planks, ladders, or other devices for a work position. location: exterior perimeter of building on or about: 6/25/21 a) Employees climbed on the rails of two JLG 450AJ aerial lifts while accessing/egressing the baskets of the lifts. The employees were exposed to a fall to the ground of over 37 feet. NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection casefile, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn nor a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift: location: exterior perimeter of building on or about: 6/25/21 a) Employees were using two JLG 450AJ aerial lifts while accessing/egressing the roof. The employees were not wearing body belts nor were lanyards attached to the booms or baskets. The employees were exposed to a fall to the ground of over 37 feet. NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection casefile, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19.
