29 CFR 1926.652(c)(4)(i):Support systems, shield systems, and other protective systems not utilizing Option 1, Option 2 or Option 3, above, were not approved by a registered professional engineer: (a) On or about July 2, 2021, and at times prior, for the employees exposed to crushing and cave in hazards while constructing a box culvert in an excavation 12 feet or more in depth where sheet piling was used as a protective system in the vicinity of the intersection of Interstate 29 and the North Branch Elm River near Hillsboro, North Dakota.
