Employers shall ensure that each employee has access to labels on containers of chromium (VI) and to safety data sheets, and is trained in accordance with the requirements of HCS and paragraph (l)(2) of this section.  a) On or about July 13, 2021, Shanley Pump & Equipment Inc. did not include chromium (VI) in the hazard communication program established to comply with the hazard communication standard. An employee working in the welding area was exposed to chromium (VI) when welding on stainless steel.   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. An employee was exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to acetone, propane and n-butyl acetate when spray painting various parts and pieces of pumps with Krylon Fusion Gloss spray paint.
